Must be 18 years of age or older. Possession of a driver’s license and a driving record that meets County standards. Experience driving vehicles with manual transmissions desirable. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform varied maintenance tasks. Employee once hired will be state certified in flagger training and work zone setup.

Examples of Work Performed:
-May perform a variety of manual work flagging traffic, setting work zone signs, etc.
-May operate mowers of various sizes.
-May perform routine computer data entry.
-Maintains daily work logs.
-May sweep shop floors and perform other custodial duties.
-May perform landscaping tasks including raking, shoveling, erosion control installation and maintenance, etc.
-May clean equipment using cleaning agents and other chemicals.
-May assist full-time employees in road and shoulder repair and maintenance work.
-Performs other related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-Skill in the use of motorized mowing equipment. (Training will be provided.)
-Skill in operating vehicles and equipment effectively, safely, and efficiently. (Training will be provided.)
-Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
-Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance activities.
-Ability to effectively communicate with the traveling public.
-Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
-Ability to follow safety rules.
-Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork.
$16.00 per hour – new hires
$16.50 per hour – 2nd year returning
$17.00 per hour – 3rd or more year returning
