Highway Business Manager
The Iowa County Highway Department is seeking applications for a full-time Business Finance Manager. Primary duties include supervision of daily office practices, financial accounting procedures, and audit processes for the Iowa County Highway Department. Critical tasks include but are not limited to: developing, supervising, and updating department financial accounting policies, practices and procedures; providing the Highway Commissioner and Finance Director with annual budget recommendations; supervision of office staff; supervision of all work related to department finances, and creation, compilation and preparation of periodic reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or closely related field with three (3) years of increasing complex office experience that includes accounting tasks is required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role is required. Previous experience with GASB and governmental accounting, Public Works, Highway Department or Construction related industry preferred. Preference for experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, Governmental Cost Accounting, procurements, and inventory control. Must have a strong self-motivated understanding of customized accounting-related computer software and be proficient in its application in a business or government office setting.
Salary for this exempt position will be based upon candidates’ qualifications, with a current range of $28.88/hr. – $32.09/hr. A generous comprehensive benefit package will be provided.
