The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) has a Health Promotion Coordinator position opening! This position is 30 hours per week and eligible for full time benefits!

What are the primary job duties?

Works with community leaders to secure locations for training facilities and equipment needed.
Assists in the development of program materials used in marketing and promoting classes and activities.
Recruit, screen, interview, select, train, schedule and supervise program volunteers. Identify volunteer leaders with Program Leader ability and monitor and coordinate ongoing Program Leader certification and training needs
Recruit and assist interested persons in enrolling in the program and communicate any needed information to class participants.
Organize materials, equipment and supplies needed for classes.
Work with local staff and Program Leaders to schedule classes.
Assist volunteer Program Leaders and participants with class activities, as needed and directed.
Obtain collection of data, program report materials, and input program documentation for all funding sources including SAMs and United Way reporting.
Provide program participants with resource information and make referrals to other appropriate programs and services, as needed.
Maintain program supplies.
Develop and maintain program records and files – marketing, volunteers, program participants, etc.
Keep attendance log for all participants and record of service hours for all volunteers.
Handle all program mailings.
Develop and photocopy letters and miscellaneous forms, as needed.
Participate in program meetings, staff meetings and training, as requested by supervisor.
Coordinate and lead the Healthy Aging Portage County Coalition.
Assist Senior Center Manager in securing funds to maintain evidence-based health programming by identifying grant and other funding opportunities and assisting with writing proposals.
Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Center Manager or ADRC Director.
Work together with agency staff, volunteers, and community agencies facilitate the Annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day.
Provide public presentations and education on evidence-based programs
Lead evidenced based health classes and programs when a volunteer is not available, and training has been provided.
Lead at least one class per year to maintain certification as a class leader.
Coordinate with the ADRC’s Caregiver Support Services division to recruit, market, provide record keeping and lead Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes at least 2 times per year.
Promote Health & prevention when working cooperatively on the following committees: Portage County CAN, Portage County Wellness, Wisconsin Falls Prevention Initiative, Healthy People Portage County (sub-committee – Healthy Weight Action Team), Active Portage County.

What are the minimum qualifications?

Associate degree in human services, health sciences, marketing, communication or related field.
At least two years of program management experience required.
Volunteer management experience preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors and/or adults with disabilities in a paid or volunteer capacity required.
Familiarity with program development and outreach preferred.
Experience in fall prevention, chronic disease management, and health programs preferred.
Leader Certification with evidence-based programs helpful.
