Health Officer

The Health Officer leads the health department in carrying out the role of chief health strategist in Juneau County. They are responsible for ensuring a strong and supportive organizational culture, developing and implementing sound and equitable public policy, overseeing the delivery of programs and services to support the department’s mission, directing financial planning and management, and establishing strong performance management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in public health, public administration, health administration or as defined in rules promulgated by the department, a similar field and 3 years of experience in a full-time administrative position in either a public health agency or public health work. A Bachelor’s degree and 16 graduate semester credits towards a master’s degree in public health, public administration, health administration or, as defined in rules promulgated by the department, a similar field and 5 years of experience in full-time administrative position in either a public health agency or public health work. Starting Wage: $37.68 per hour. Juneau County offers a generous benefits package.
