Deputy Treasurer/Tax Assistant

The part-time [17.5 hours/week] Deputy Treasurer/Tax Assistant will receive and receipt all funds from County Departments and second half property taxes. This position will also assist the Real Property Lister with development, implementation and maintenance of property tax records for Taylor County. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the creation and/or correction of legal real property descriptions, maintaining and updating a variety of map records, data entry to maintain tax data base and preparing assessment rolls, tax rolls and tax bill packages.

Applicants for this position must be a high school or GED equivalent with accounting education/experience or any combination of education and work experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Ability to read real estate descriptions and attention to detail and accuracy is required. Experience working with a cash drawer is preferred.
