Are you a compassionate individual who enjoys working with aging adults? If so, Monroe County’s ADRC might have the job for you! We’re hiring for a full-time Dementia Care Specialist. Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in the health or human services field, while a bachelors in Social Work is preferred. Preferred is at least one year full-time working experience with multiple people with dementia, their families, and informal caregivers. Knowledge regarding older adults, dementia to include care and support, family and informal caregiver needs, challenging behaviors, and familiarity with area resources is helpful.

The Dementia Care Specialist will work in Monroe and Jackson Counties to provide dementia specific consultation and technical assistance related to cognitive screening and individual and family caregiver issues to adult protective services agencies, crisis response systems, county/tribal aging offices, ADRC staff members, and other agencies as requested. This position will also develop referral relationships with physicians, dementia diagnostic clinics, and other health and long term care provides.
Starting salary for this position is: $43,680 – $45,760 annually depending on qualifications and experience. Monroe County offers an excellent benefit package to include health with vision, dental, term life, and more.
