Do you have experience in public safety, the ability to manage personnel successfully, and have a passion for serving the public? If so, the Monroe County Communications Center might have the job for you. We are looking for a full-time Communications Center Administrator. Successful candidates are preferred to have a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Police Administration, Communications, or a related field. A minimum of five years in emergency services dispatching preferably in a department of equivalent size and activity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is ideal. Knowledge of all phases of public safety communications including 9-1-1, CAD and radio systems, police, fire and other emergency service operations is desired. Ability to successfully pass a background check is required.

Our Communications Center Administrator directs and supervises the activities of the County’s 911 Communications Center. The Communications Center Administrator supervises, trains, motivates, evaluates, disciplines, schedules, and plans the layout of work for the department’s personnel. This position is also responsible for managing the installation, operation, and maintenance of the public safety radio, telephone, and other communications-related systems and equipment while assuring compliance with the Federal Communications Commission regulations. The Communications Center Administrator also prepares and administers the department’s budget.

Starting salary for this position is $57,090 – $64,875 annually. Monroe County offers an exceptional benefit package to include health with vision, dental, term life, Wisconsin Retirement System, and more.
