Children’s Services Supervisor
The Children’s Services Supervisor is responsible for the administrative oversight, leadership, planning, development and management of the programs and services of the Initial Assessment Unit in accordance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations. Within the unit resides the Department of Children and Families (DCF) programs including Access, Initial Assessment, Foster Care Coordinator, Kinship Care, and Child Care Certification. Work involves advising staff as well as setting unit policies, goals and budgets under the direction of the Health and Human Services Director. The Children’s Services Supervisor is also the Administrator of the Birth to Three Program through the Department of Health Services (DHS). The Children’s Services Supervisor provides direct supervision of the Birth to Three Coordinator/Service Provider. The Children’s Services Supervisor has on-call responsibilities after business hours as part of a rotation as the Supervisor On-Call response for Juvenile Custody Intake. This is for one week at a time on about a 3 week cycle.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. Three (3) years’ work experience in social services or related agency. Previous supervisory or lead experience required. Social Work Certification in accordance with WIS Chapter 457. A Master’s Degree in Social Work, or related human services field is preferred. Must successfully pass criminal and caregiver background checks.
