Children, Youth, and Family Services Supervisor
Sawyer County Health and Human Services is accepting applications for a fulltime Children, Youth, and Families Supervisor. Under the supervision of the Health and Human Services Director, the Children, Youth, and Families Services Supervisor, position serves to supervise and lead the Children, Youth, and Families Services Unit consisting of child protective services (CPS) and youth justice (YJ.) Supervision and leadership occurs in accordance with applicable codes, statutes (e.g., Wisconsin Statutes Chapters 48 & 938), rules, and regulations, including state and federal regulations and standards. CPS responsibilities include, but are not limited to, child protection, child welfare dispositions, foster care coordination, and Kinship Care. YJ responsibilities include, but not limited to, supervising intake and dispositional services to court and families and provide supervision and case management with a target group of youth 10-17 years of age who fall under Chapter 938 of the Wisconsin Statutes.
Sawyer County (population 17,000) is situated within the pristine woods and waters of northwestern Wisconsin. Sawyer County Health and Human Services is located in the county seat of Hayward. Hayward is the home of world-class events such as the American Birkebeiner and the Lumberjack World Championships.
Qualifications for this position includes a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, or a human services related field is required. Experience in supervision and leadership along with providing services in child protective services and youth justice systems and knowledge of court processes, eWISACWIS, child protective services and youth court standards, regulations, and laws preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Wisconsin Social Work Certification required or must receive said certification within 1-year of hire. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or ability to obtain as a condition of employment, use of a reliable insured vehicle and proof of vehicle insurance. Repayment of county paid certification/licensure if not employed with the county for at least 1-year.
