Job Description:

Oneida County is accepting applications for a full-time (2080 hours per year) Chief Deputy Medical Examiner position. Position assists the Medical Examiner in investigating and determining the cause and manner of death for the deceased for Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties, as provided for in State Statutes. Starting 2025 salary range is $61,215 to $82,203 based on qualifications, plus a competitive benefit package.

Qualified candidates should have: an Associate degree in paramedic, nursing, biology, medicine, pre-med, forensic science or criminal justice or related field preferred, One year experience in medical investigations or related preferred; Experience as a Medical Examiner or Deputy Coroner with equivalent of 1-2 years of full time work preferred. Possession of or ability to obtain American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) board certification preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position and valid WI driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
