Bailiff
Columbia County is now accepting applications for Non-Deputized (Civilian) Bailiff positions. The purpose of this position is to monitor behavior and movement of jurors prior to and during circuit court proceedings. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with judges, court personnel, attorneys, jurors and the public and is bound by rigid guidelines to keep all jurors secure for trials. Upon hire, training will be provided. Qualifications: a high school diploma or equivalent and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities is required. Must be able to pass background check. Candidates with law enforcement, legal experience, corrections, or civil service experience are preferred. **Please note: this is a casual position. There are no set hours. Flexible availability is ideal.** Hire rate: $16.264 per hour, no benefits.
