Assistant Corporation Counsel

Are you licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin and have an interest in the public sector? If so Monroe County’s Corporation Counsel Dept. is looking for a part-time (20 hrs/wk) Assistant Corporation Counsel. Successful candidates will have a degree from a recognized, certified school of law and be licensed to practice law in state of Wisconsin. One year in practice of law is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Our Assistant Corporation Counsel provides general legal counsel to the county and its departments. This position will demonstrate quality research and writing skills including work on appellate briefs and shall assist in things like representing and advising on Child in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS) cases; termination of parental rights, guardianships, child support, vulnerable adults, mental health, and assisting with county board related issues.

Hiring salary is $36.96 hourly based on qualifications and experience. Monroe County offers an exceptional benefit package to include health, dental, term life, and more.
