Asphalt Plant / Equipment Operator
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to operate a variety of both heavy and light equipment to support operation of the asphalt hot mix plant. Will also assist in the production of hot mix asphalt and in the operation of the asphalt hot mix plant including minor repairs and maintenance. Duties may also include loading trucks, coordinating with vendors and customers, and monitoring and tracking flow of aggregate materials in and out of the premises.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training in mixing plant operation or road construction and one year heavy equipment operating experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required. Possess basic understanding of electrical schematics and common electrical wiring, with understanding of AC voltage systems of 2 and 3 phase 110 volt, 220 volt, and 480 volt. Also understanding of DC voltage and small electronics.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS:
The 2022 wage range for this full-time (80 hours bi-weekly), non-exempt position is $21.83 per hour to $28.07 per hour (step 16). The expected starting hourly wage is $21.83 per hour to $24.95 per hour (step 6), depending upon qualifications. Trempealeau County’s compensation plan considers annual wage step increases.
