Education & Experience: High school diploma supplemented by bookkeeping courses, plus one year bookkeeping experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Associate Degree in Bookkeeping or Accounting preferred.
Essential Duties
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs bookkeeping, payroll, receivables, verifications and clerical duties of a routine nature which involves maintaining records and processing documents related to financial transactions; performs related functions as assigned under direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Verifies, tabulates and records invoices, checks, vouchers, orders, receipts and other financial material on a routine basis.
Accounts for monies handled.
Prepares checks, statements, lists of disbursements, journal entries in Logos, and payables. Verifies, reconciles and accounts for work papers to support financial activity for the ADRC.
Creation and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets of a complex nature necessary for program financial tracking and reporting.
Answers inquiries of a general, non-restricted nature, or refers inquires to the proper supervisors, accountant or department.
Supports the Human Resource function of the ADRC in tracking and educating staff on benefits, enrollments and payroll withholdings and provides payroll information by answering employee questions and requests. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability and nontaxable wages.
Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes, creates, submits and deposits electronic file transfers to appropriate entities. Reconciles payroll liabilities, investigates and resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Advises, supports, and trains Procurement Card holders, provides on-line purchasing program support and maintenance, assures proper supporting documentation is included with all card user statements. Investigates discrepancies and provides support and maintenance when requested.
Manages electronic Accounting related records held in Laserfiche file management system.
Reproduces multiple copies of work.
Has a “Duty to Report” during a community emergency/disaster according to the ADRC Emergency Preparedness Plan.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
High school diploma supplemented by bookkeeping courses, plus one year bookkeeping experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Associate Degree in Bookkeeping or Accounting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and appropriate procedural methods pertaining to the department in which employed.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize a computer and the required software.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet production on personal computers.
Knowledge of basic data processing techniques and procedures.
Ability to perform full data entry functions at a rate of 80 net keystrokes per minute.
Ability to operate general office equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to accept responsibility and to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to work the required hours of the position.
Ability to calculate figures and formulas accurately.
Ability to plan, organize, schedule and prioritize work to ensure timely completion.
Ability to maintain complex records and files.
