Job Summary
Performs the day-to-day office duties necessary to provide the Planning and Land Services Department-Zoning division with document support for all records. Primary responsibility will be reviewing, organizing, scanning and linking all files to GIS. Secondary responsibility will be any other zoning related tasks in addition to general support for the Planning and Land Services Department.

Essential Duties
Assist with record review for all Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System files.

Organize files for Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems.

Scanning files for Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems.

Linking Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems files to GIS and performing quality control to ensure accuracy prior to recycling of paper file.

Maintains, prepares and uses common office equipment.

Records and tracks progress every day and reports to the Zoning Administrator.

Assist with record review for all shoreland files.

Organize shoreland files.

Scanning shoreland files.

Linking shoreland files to GIS and performing quality control to ensure accuracy prior to recycling of paper file.

Assist with record review for all non-metallic mining files.

Organize non-metallic mining files.

Scanning non-metallic mining files.

Linking non-metallic mining files to GIS and performing quality control to ensure accuracy prior to recycling of paper file.

Performs other zoning work to support county operations.

Communicates with Planning and Land Services staff as it relates to zoning records.

Assists customers as needed for general Planning and Land Services functions.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Performs related functions as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED

Licenses and Certifications:

N/A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of applicable zoning codes.

Knowledge of principles and techniques of environmental and land use control.

Knowledge of soil testing procedures.

Knowledge of effects of poor planning and zoning.

Knowledge of standard office practices.

Knowledge of and ability to utilize a computer and required software.

Knowledge of GIS software.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, officials and the public.

Ability to interpret land and aerial maps.

Ability to work the required hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Frequent standing, walking, sitting and driving.

Using hand(s)/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls.

Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching; occasional climbing.

Withstanding temperature changes in the work environment.

Communicating orally in a clear manner.
