Accounting Technician – Social Services
This is a full time position in the Marathon County Social Services Department. This individual will work in a team environment as a member of the financial services team, providing a variety of financial support duties. The job duties consist of, but are not limited to: Accounts payable processing, preparation of claims, processing of information for children’s support programs, reconciliation of various accounts, compiling data for reports, and performing other projects as assigned. The successful candidate will be dependable, flexible, well organized, detail-oriented and customer-focused. An individual with excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, customer service focus, team oriented, and strong computer skills is required. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, and hours of work are 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a half hour unpaid lunch. After a training period, a blended schedule of in-office and remote work may be approved.
Associate’s Degree in Accounting and one (1) year experience working with financial records as a major part of job duties; OR high school graduation or its equivalent, supplemented by formal course work in accounting, and five (5) years experience working with financial records as a major part of job duties. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Hourly rate (B21): Minimum $16.16 – Control Point $18.99
