Accounting Assistant – The Pierce County Finance Department is seeking an Accounting Assistant to perform a variety of accounting and clerical tasks in keeping financial accounts and records. This position is responsible for processing and reconciling of financial and related records and data, requiring the application of standardized policies and procedures. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Minimum Qualifications: Technical/Vocational degree from an accredited college in accounting, business, finance or related field; OR any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and responsibilities. One (1) year of accounting or finance experience. Valid Driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of governmental or public sector accounting experience. Accounts Payable experience preferred.
